Embung Bansari yang terletak di desa Bansari, Kecamatan Bansari, Kabupaten Temanggung pada awal mula dibangun embung ini digunakan sebagai sarana pengairan untuk petani, namun kini telah meningkat menjadi destinasi wisata.
Berada di ketinggian 1.300 Mdpl, di kaki lereng Gunung Sindoro menciptakan pemandangan alam yang indah, dan udara yang sejuk. menjadi daya tarik para pengunjung untuk datang ke kawasan wisata Embung ini.
Kawasan wisata Embung Bansari kurang lebih seluas 1 hektar. Sejak 2020 mulai berkembang menjadi destinasi wisata yang dikunjungi baik wisatawan lokal maupun mancanegara.
Jarak tempuh dari pusat Kota Temanggung menuju lokasi Embung Bansari sekitar 18 KM atau menghabiskan waktu sekitar 45 menit. Sedangkan jarak tempat wisata ini dengan perumahan penduduk cukup jauh sekitar 3 KM, sehingga para pengunjung dapat bertaddabur alam dengan tenang.
Rute jalan menuju Embung Bansari sudah diperbaiki dengan jalan cor beton seluas 4m mempermudah para pengunjung dan meskipun menanjak, jalan yang dilewati tidak lagi membosankan karena disepanjang jalan adalah perkebunan milik warga sekitar.
Pada Bulan Juli- Agustus terhampar perkebunan tembakau disekitar kawasan wisata Embung Bansari . Pada musim tembakau cuaca cerah juga menjadi referensi kami untuk wisatawan mengunjungi Embung Bansari pada waktu tersebut.
