Temanggung memiliki potensi besar dari segi kesenian tradisional khususnya kesenian kuda lumping. Tercatat ada lebih dari 1.500 kelompok kuda lumping yang tersebar di Temanggung. Salah satu kelompok kesenian kuda lumping yang masih eksis adalah Krido Turonggo. Kelompok ini terbilang tua di Desa Mergowati. Bahkan sudah tiga generasi berkecimpung dalam seni olah tari.
